Hey Y'all!
I'm back again, I'm so going to hit this target, you just watch.... I got bars son! lol
So, what came to mind today stemmed from a video that I watched earlier about vows, wedding vows in particular. You know the; "for sickness and in health, for better or worse" and the importance of revisiting these vows daily...
Good idea, right? Yes, I thought so too but my thoughts went a bit further....
What about the vows that we make to ourselves, both positive or negative. What are we standing firm on as the principle for how we live our lives and honor ourselves? How often do we dishonor ourselves but then expect another flawed human being to honor us?
OUCH, that part!
Well, it's true.... we are often quick to tie ourselves to a man-made set of vows and speak them over ourself and partners but we fail to take inventory over the words that we speak and vows that we make to and within ourselves on a conscious or subconscious level.
...And I'm not talking about making "resolutions"... for you; "New Year, This Me, Who Dis" folks... (yeah, that was once me too) but I'm talking about being intentional with our words that will allow us to better serve our purpose, honor ourselves and take appropriate action.
Let's look at the word and it's meaning; Vow- solemnly promise to do a specified thing. A solemn promise made committing oneself to an act, service, or condition.
I see: promise, commitment, specific, act and service!
What areas of your life can you commit to yourself more? Being specific with your words and actions (firm and unwavering) to serve your highest good and promising to always be loving, loyal, kind and authentic to yourself??
Read that again.
Doesn't that sound so powerful?
It is, and the beautiful thing is that we are capable of making personal vows that will further us in our walk with the Creator, ourselves, in relationships, business etc.
Let's challenge each other to do better by ourselves and write, keep and repeat our vows.
I'm ready, are you?
With Light,
Candace
