Hey Family!

Hoping that you and yours are well! This morning as I was checking emails and watching a few videos, something hit me...

I’ve noticed that I need to reset how I’ve been doing some things in my life. Particularly, when it comes to finances. At the beginning of this pandemic and while working from home (March-June) I found myself saving money very aggressively and not buying anything that didn’t have an immediate use or purpose, so those items boiled down to being; paying for household expenses/bills and food. Wellll, now that I’ve been back in the office (since mid-June) I find myself purchasing more items that aren’t necessary. Eh!

One thing that I'll share about me is that I loveeee to go on vacation. Even if it’s just to sunny Florida or to the Caribbean... but I absolutely love it!! I even more-so love putting my vacation wardrobe together and totally enjoy seeing the looks that I created “come to life” when I wear them on the beach or to an upscale restaurant... the only difference is, I’M NOT GOING ON VACATION ANY TIME SOON lol ....yet I keep purchasing as though I am. How do I justify these purchases? I tell myself; “this is my consolation for not going on vacation and I’ll have these items for future vacations”; this purchasing also gives me immediate gratification and cured my “boredom” or “disappointments” in the moment. Yet the reality is, I’m not using my resources wisely while glossing over my feelings of loss, disappointment and sadness due to this pandemic AND I’m not growing my bank account as aggressively as I had been in just a few short months prior.

SO, what’s my plan? The plan is to simply, hit reset! That’s it. Beginning today, I’ll reset how I view spending, reset how I process my feelings and reset the intention to better make use of my creativity and energy when I’m “bored”. Doing so will ultimately allow me to tap into my true heart space in the moment, better assess my goals, stick to my strategy & regain my savings momentum.

The great thing is that this can be applied to any area of our lives when we seem to have fallen off course a little. You can reset your money mindset, spiritual practice, your fitness goals,  dietary goals or many other lifestyle challenges/benefits. It’s amazing what change in direction, improvement and discipline can do; allowing us to reach the destinations that we truly want to reach, long term not just temporarily!

So here’s to hitting RESET on any area of your life that you feel may have become a bit off-balance and now choosing to bring it back to the original (and even better) plan!

It’s all a choice! How empowering is that?!

I also read a quote this morning that stated “you don’t get in life what you want, you get your habits”... deep, huh?! Let’s reset together! Making better choices, sticking to the script that we have in mind for our lives and seeing the beautiful fruits of our better habits!

With you,

Candace
