I am known as the person who always has her cell phone next to her, the first to reply back to a text and always reachable... but today was different! I woke up, thanked God for another day and decided that I wouldn’t let my phone “run the show”. What I needed was a peace of mind from all that has been communicated to me recently and to fully enjoy being present. Something amazing happened due to my choice to unplug; I was free from anxiety, worry and pressure! Fully engaged with my daughter, Eden as we raced each other in the basement... and I saw and appreciated my husband’s interaction with both of the girls and sat in admiration of his tech savvy while he then worked on yet another household project. Would you believe that I even got a few naps in with my youngest, Elise.

Needless to say it’s been a great day! I guess this is the surplus from God’s word living and acting in my life; “be anxious for nothing -Philippians 4:6 (and) therefore don’t worry about tomorrow -Matthew 6:34”. Surely, we can all benefit from taking time out to focus on the now, the main things!

Hoping that you find the time to unplug and unwind with those that you love too!

Peace,

Candace
