Hey Hey!
I wanted to take the time to re-introduce myself and the intention for CandaceGreen.net.
As the website header reads; God, Family, Lessons and Lifestyle. Simple enough, but to expand, the purpose is to encourage, empower and inspire women through my experiences, outlook and sharing what I believe are relatable moments. My overall hopes are to offer perspective and provide the uplift that we all need at times!
The written word has also been where I've always found myself more creative and expressive, by gift and by comfort. Be it poetry, short stories or journaling. My first attempt at blogging was in 2012 (I share some of that throwback content here: https://www.candacegreen.net/post/one-mic)
On this outlet, you will find my illustration of life, always rooted in gratitude and praise for God- Creator of Heaven and Earth and also always cheering for YOU as we are all on this journey together! I'm a Mom of two beautiful, vibrant and vastly energetic little girls, I reference my Motherhood journey a lot too, coupled with sharing my marital experiences and lessons learned from a transparent point of view. We all know that not many people representing #RelationshipGoals are authentic or even a point of reference for what real marriage looks like with two flawed, unique human beings. It's certainly NOT picture perfect, even though we like how that looks. ;) I hope that this has given you a bit of insight on who I am and my "why"!
Just a quick tid-bit; months leading up to my 5-year Wedding Anniversary, I was on this internal race to be physically better than who my husband married, to be as close to the woman that said "I Do" to him in 2015 (as if they are two separate people *sigh*)... but after some self-examination and reflection, I realized that I've grown so much during these years and better truly is relative. Presently, I wear many more hats, I'm better at management and execution, I've accomplished more personally, scholastically and professionally, I am a wonderful Mom (which is one of my most prestigious roles, in my opinion), I'm learning my way and the value and non-negotiable need for balance.... and to be quite honest, I like how I've learned to mix glam with simplicity. Cause honey, those 4 bundles of Brazilian extensions worn on my Wedding Day in 2015 are so not my preference now. See, didn't I tell you I've matured? LOL I say all of that to emphasize that sometimes it takes giving ourselves credit and realizing that staying or being the "same" isn't always what it's presumed to be. We should continuously embrace our evolution and be darn proud of it!
Thank you for joining me, sharing and commenting. Until next time...
Blessings!
Candace
